FÉLIX Brigitte (PR)

Brigitte Félix is Professor of American Literature at the University of Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis where she has been Head of one of Paris 8’s four doctoral schools, "Pratiques et theories du sens”, since 2019.

Her research is centered on 20th and 21st century North American (US) literature. She is the author of a monograph on William Gaddis’s first three novels and several articles as well as a collection of essays on William Gaddis’s works. She has edited a collection of articles on contemporary fiction, “New American Voices”, for the online journal Transatlantica (2011:2 ), and contributed to the critical edition of the first volume of Philip Roth’s works in French for Gallimard (Bibliothèque de la Pléiade, 2017). Her current work focuses on American fiction from the last two decades of the 20th century to the present, the poetics and materialities of innovative texts in contemporary writing, including multimodal narratives (Mark Z. Danielewki, Lance Olsen, Vanessa Place, Steve Tomasula…).
