Derne Darelle Moutoula Niengou is in her second doctorate year of American Literature at the University of Paris 8, under the supervision of Professor Claire Joubert. After completing her Master’s dissertation, "Geopoetics in Edwidge Danticat’s The Farming of Bones", she continues her research on Edwidge Danticat by extending her corpus to all of the author’s work in an attempt to uncover a notion of national literature. Her doctorate thesis is entitled, « Réexamen de la notion de littérature nationale dans l’écriture d’Edwidge Danticat ».
