27 mars 2023 : Conférence ouverte de Nancy Sinkoff – "Salvaging Jewish Cultural Property"

Transcrit is delighted to invite you to a very special public lecture by renowned academic and acclaimed author Professor Nancy Sinkoff, of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, on the 27th of March 2023 at 12h30.

Professor Sinkoff will speak on the topic of Salvaging Jewish Cultural Property : the Story of Lucy S. Dawidowicz (1915-1990), exploring the role played by a young American-born Jewish immigrant in the rescue of Jewish cultural property during and after World War 2. It will chart how Lucy S. Davidowich fled Europe in the days before the war, and how she spent the years between 1939-1947 working to save what remained of Jewish cultural treasures from her base in New York City and the American Zone of occupied Germany.

The lecture is open to all, and doctoral students are particularly welcome.
It will take place in room A2-215 on the 27th of March 2023, at 12h30.
