Audrey FOGELS est maîtresse de conférences en littérature américaine à l’université Paris 8 - Saint Denis et membre de l’unité de recherche TransCrit. Sa recherche porte sur la littérature nord américaine du XIXe siècle, et plus particulièrement les femmes écrivains. Ses axes de recherche sont la mise en crise de l’identité américaine dans le sillage de la Guerre Civile, notamment par la (dé)construction du genre (littéraire et gender) et les problématiques croisées de classe et de « race ». Après une thèse sur Emily Dickinson, elle a publié des articles sur Mary E. Wilkins Freeman, Sarah Orne Jewett et Elizabeth B. Stoddard.
