Juliette Tran is an alumna of the École normale supérieure (ENS) de Lyon. She holds an MA in Advanced English Studies and the French Agrégation of English Language. She has taught at the ENS de Lyon, the University of Lyon, and the University of Grenoble. She currently lives in Barcelona, Spain, and teaches English at the Lycée Français de Barcelone.

Within Transcrit, Juliette is a Ph.D. candidate in American History under the supervision of Pr. Bertrand Van Ruymbeke. Her dissertation project—“Kentucky as America : Narratives and Memories of the First American West, 1763-1893”—aims at demonstrating that the colonization of Kentucky in the eighteenth century was remembered by Americans as the first “conquest of the West,” and that the stories and memories of that conquest served as cultural rationale for the expansion of the US in the nineteenth century.
